ESPN Breaks New Ground By Showing Pro Male Athlete Kissing His Husband After A Win

Described as "a first" for ESPN, which aired a victory kiss on Sunday shared between the Pro Bowling Association finals winner and his husband

In what might be a first, ESPN this weekend showed an openly gay male pro athlete kissing his husband and they did not shy away from describing the relationship. The event was the 2012 PBA Chameleon Championship in Las Vegas, held in November, but shown on TV this Sunday.

Scott Norton won the event over Jason Belmonte and afterward broke down and cried in memory of a friend who had died. He was then shown kissing his husband, Craig Woodward, as they exchanged affectionate words (video below). During the telecast, ESPN’s announcers referred to Woodward as Norton’s husband or spouse.

A Kansas City Chiefs football player killed himself at the team football facility in KC this morning ... after allegedly murdering his GF ... this according to multiple reports. 

Officials have not yet revealed the name of the player. 

According to reports, the player shot and killed his GF at a KC area home around 8 AM local time ... and then drove to the Chiefs facility where he shot and killed himself.

Shuan White the two-time Olympic gold medalist and X-Games star snowboarder, faces charges of vandalism and public intoxication after his arrest at a hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

White, 26, reportedly pulled a fire alarm at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel shortly after midnight Sunday morning, forcing the evacuation of all hotel guests. An employee also told police he saw White destroy a hotel phone.
According to Nashville police, White attempted to flee the hotel in a cab, but “a citizen” at the hotel told the driver he was calling the police. White overheard the conversation, and allegedly kicked the person and ran away.

“The citizen reported that he chased White until White turned and ran into him, apparently causing White to fall backwards and strike his head against a fence,” the police report states. “White was transported to a local hospital for treatment.”

White was released from the hospital Monday afternoon, and is free on his own recognizance. The citizen involved in the altercation declined to press charges.

The police report also says that “White appeared to be extremely intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol.”

The arrest warrants for vandalism and public intoxication were issued Sunday morning, after White refused to sign misdemeanor citations.

White is the two-time defending Winter Olympic halfpipe snowboarding champion. He’s also won 24 X Games medals in snowboarding and skateboarding.

 

Lance Armstrong Won't Fight Doping Charges; USADA Aims To Strip Him Of Tour De France Titles

Seven-time Tour de France winner and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong says he will not go to arbitration with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which says Armstrong has been using performance-enhancing drugs since 1996 and should be banned from cycling for life and stripped of his titles

"There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now," Armstrong said in a statement sent to The Associated Press. He called the USADA investigation an "unconstitutional witch hunt."

"I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning my seven Tours since 1999," he said. "The toll this has taken on my family and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today - finished with this nonsense."

USADA reacted quickly and treated Armstrong's decision as an admission of guilt, hanging the label of drug cheat on an athlete who was a hero to thousands for overcoming life-threatening testicular cancer and for his foundation's support for cancer research.

"It is a sad day for all of us who love sport and athletes," Tygart said. "It's a heartbreaking example of win at all costs overtaking the fair and safe option. There's no success in cheating to win."

Tygart said the agency can strip the Tour titles, though Armstrong disputed that as he insisted his decision is not an admission of drug use, but a refusal to enter an arbitration process he believes is unfair.
