Andy Warhol's Elvis Presley painting could sell for $50 million. I love you Tender for 50 million

Andy Warhol would have another headline for his scrapbook. The prince of pop art’s portrait of Elvis Presley is set for the Sotheby's auction block and is expected to fetch $30 million to $50 million.

"Double Elvis (Ferus Type)," which shows the King as a cowboy shooting from the hip, will be offered in New York on May 9 as part of a larger Sotheby's auction of postwar and contemporary art.

The life-size painting from 1963 was exhibited at the Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles the same year and will show in L.A., Hong Kong and London before the spring sale. 

"Eight Elvises," also a 1963 silkscreen painting, sold to a private collector in 2009 for $100 million (that’s $12.5 million per Elvis), making it one of the most expensive paintings ever sold. 

Throughout his life, Warhol was obsessed with tabloids and celebrities, collecting newspaper articles of his favorite Hollywood stars as a teenager; later keeping clippings of himself in a series of 34 scrapbooks.

Marilyn Monroe Photos: More Than 100 Rare Images Hit The Auction Block at Julien's Auctions

LOS ANGELES — A collection of never-before-seen photos of Marilyn Monroe – and their accompanying copyrights – are going up for auction.

Celebrity auctioneer Darren Julien says more than 100 images of Monroe will be sold the highest bidders later this month.

The photos come from the estate of Allan "Whitey" Snyder, Monroe's personal makeup artist for 15 years. One image shows Snyder applying makeup to a lingerie-wearing Monroe on the set of "Let's Make Love" in 1960.

The photographer said: 'I am trying to show the vulnerability that I see and feel in the subjects when I am with them, to get to the complex emotions behind a mask of extreme physical expression.'

Taxidermy class teaches students how to stuff dead mice and pose them up 'as if they were humans'

The last time I was in San Simeon, one of the local shops had little stuffed duckling "statues" for sale. It actually made me wanna cry. I think stuffed dead anything is pretty lame "art"...  Where the hell is PETA?

It's not a hobby for the faint of heart.

But Susan Jeiven's class on anthropomorphic taxidermy has been sold out since December.

The one-day workshop, which teaches students how to stuff dead mice and pose them up as if they were humans, is becoming a popular pastime in New York.

White-haired mice styled in tutus and polka dot hair bows; their spindly paws strumming miniature guitars - even reading the New York Times - were photographed in Ms Jeiven's class last Tuesday.

An educator and tattoo artist, she begins the four-hour lesson handing out the lifeless little creatures, having sucked out their blood with a syringe beforehand. A statement on the class website warns only feeder mice are used for the arts and crafts session.
