Here's something to think about the next time you dig into the couch cushions looking for loose change.
A Long Island, New York, woman was cleaning up her basement apartment when she lifted a couch cushion and discovered an enormous snake. Officials with the SPCA were called in and determined that it was a three-foot ball python that was living in the couch.
It's believed that the snake belonged to the apartment's previous owner and was supposedly being cared for by the upstairs neighbor, but it got loose. The snake is legal to own as a pet and no one will face any charges. (Newsday)
