1989 - JON BON JOVI married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, at the GRACELAND WEDDING CHAPEL in Las Vegas. and they're still together today.

1992 - EMILIO ESTEVEZ married PAULA ABDUL in a Santa Monica courthouse. The-marriage only lasted two years.

1992 - Four white Los Angeles PO-lice officers were acquitted in the videotaped whooping of BEATEN BLACK MOTORIST RODNEY KING, setting off days of rioting that left 54 people dead and caused an estimated $1 BILLION in damages.  I WAS HERE FOR THAT.

1995 - TUPAC SHAKUR married Keisha Morris inside a New York state prison where he was serving a 4-and-a-half year sentence for sexual abuse.  Sadly, their marriage was annulled in 1996 and so was he.

1999 - TOMMY LEE announced that he had quit MOTLEY CRUE to devote time to his new band, METHODS OF MAYHEM, and to his family.  Neither of those things lasted.  But the Crue is still going strong fatter and with less hair.

2001 - "The Mummy Returns" premiered starring the now plump BRENDAN FRASER,  RACHEL WEISZ, and THE ROCK as the Scorpion King..hwo latered played a TOOTH FAIRY.

2004 A national monument to the 16 million U.S. men and women who served during World War II opened to the public in Washington D.C.

2005 - CHRIS KLEIN ( american pie) pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence.

1789 - There was a MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY!  Mutineers seized the British ship called "The Bounty" and set CAPTAIN WILLIAM BLIGH and 18 sailors adrift in a launch in the South Pacific.  (There were three big movie versions about it.)

Clark Gable played mutiny leader Fletcher Christian opposite Charles Laughton's Captain Bligh in the 1935 version, which won a Best Picture Oscar.)

1947 - A SIX-MAN EXPEDITION SAILED FROM PERU ABOARD A BALSA WOOD RAFT NAMED THE KON TIKI ON A 101-DAY JOURNEY TO POLYNESIA.

1963 - 19-year-old ANDREW OLDHAM saw the ROLLING STONES' first performance at the Crawdaddy Club in London.  He signed on as their manager the next day.

1967 - MUHAMMAD ALI was stripped of his WBC and WBA titles when he refused to be inducted into the Army.  As Ali had famously said, "I ain't got no quarrel with those Vietcong."  The WBC title was filled by a guy named JOE FRAZIER.

1971 - 28-year-old BARBRA STREISAND was intent on changing her image . . . so . . . SHE TOOK TO LIGHTING JOINTS ONSTAGE IN LAS VEGAS!

1980 - Marshall Tucker Band bass player Tommy Caldwell died of injuries he got in a car accident in Spartanburg, SC. 

1987 - On a plane that was returning to Boston, from Miami, Ozzy Osbourne bought three rounds of drinks and sang "Crazy Train" over the PA system. 

1987 - For the first time, a compact disc of an album was released before its vinyl version. The album was "The Art of Excellence" by Tony Bennett. 

1987 - On a plane carrying spring breakers home from Miami to Boston, OZZY OSBOURNE bought three rounds of drinks and sang "Crazy Train" over the P.A.

1988 - The BALTIMORE ORIOLES set an American League record by opening the season with 21 STRAIGHT LOSSES when the Minnesota Twins beat them 4-to-2.

2001 - Dennis Tito paid $20 million to become to world's first space tourist.

2007 - BOY GEORGE chained a Norwegian male prostitute to his bedroom wall.  For some reason, the cops didn't like that and George was eventually convicted of false imprisonment.  He only had to serve four months of his 15 month sentence.

2002 - Vince Neil allegedly attacked a record producer outside the Rainbow Room in West Hollywood. Neil pled guilty to the misdemeanor charge of battery on September 27, 2002.

2007 - "Survivor" creator MARK BURNETT married former "Touched By An Angel" star ROMA DOWNEY at their home in Malibu.  Roma's co-star, DELLA REESE, performed the ceremony.  She's an ordained minister.

2008 - SCOTT WEILAND was sentenced to eight days in prison, after pleading no contest to driving under the influence of alcohol with a prior conviction. 

2008 - ASHLEY DUPRE .who's world famous as Eliot Spitzer's high priced poon HO  filed a $10 million lawsuit against "Girls Gone Wild" after they dug up old footage of her getting naked and slutty back in 2003.  She dropped the suit three months late realizing that it was actually finishing school  for her future Peen suckin diploma.
